New trip notes: Catalonia 2026

I’ve added a new trip page from Catalonia, covering three very different botanical landscapes: Cap de Creus, Setcases in the eastern Pyrenees, and the Serra de Picancel near Berga.

The route moves from dry Mediterranean coastal cliffs to alpine Pyrenean habitats and humid limestone forests. That contrast is exactly what makes Catalonia such a rewarding place for botany and botanising: within a relatively small area, the flora shifts dramatically with elevation, geology, exposure, and moisture.

The new page includes short notes on each area, GPX route maps, and photo galleries with some of the plants and landscapes seen along the way. There are coastal species at Cap de Creus, spring alpine plants around Setcases, and shaded limestone cliff flora near Berga, including the beautiful endemic gesneriad Ramonda myconi.
